I. Product Overview
The electrolytic zinc anode plate is a critical electrode material used in zinc electrowinning within the hydrometallurgical industry. Under the action of direct current, the anode plate acts as a conductive medium, working in tandem with the cathode plate to complete the reduction and deposition of zinc ions, serving as a core component for obtaining high-purity metallic zinc.
II. Material and Characteristics
Modern electrolytic zinc anode plates are typically made of lead-silver alloys (e.g., Pb-Ag0.7%) or lead-calcium-tin alloys, featuring the following core properties:
- Strong Corrosion Resistance: Exhibits extremely high chemical stability in zinc sulfate electrolyte, effectively reducing dissolution loss.
- Excellent Conductivity: Low electrical resistivity ensures uniform current distribution, lowers tank voltage, and saves electricity.
- High Mechanical Strength: High-temperature casting and precision rolling processes ensure a flat surface, preventing deformation during long-term use.
III. Working Principle
In the electrolytic cell, anode and cathode plates are arranged alternately. When energized, oxidation occurs on the anode surface releasing oxygen, while zinc ions in the solution migrate to the cathode to be reduced and deposited as metallic zinc. High-quality anode plates effectively inhibit impurity precipitation, increasing the purity of cathode zinc (typically over 99.995%).
IV. Application Fields
Widely used in the electrolysis workshops of large and medium-sized zinc smelters, new and technical renovation projects for hydrometallurgical zinc, as well as comprehensive recovery of non-ferrous metal resources.
